PEDIATRIC PODIATRY | SOUTH TEXAS FOOT SPECIALIST
Foot and ankle problems encountered by infants include clubfoot, intoeing, outoeing, difficulty walking as well as congenital foot deformities. Such deformities can be most effectively treated by conservative means in infancy as bones and joints of the foot are relatively undeveloped and deformities are reducible.
Once children are old enough to participate in sports, foot and ankle injuries need to be treated by an experienced pediatric podiatrist. If left untreated, this injuries can cause problems later in life.
